Gloria is a former Head Teacher who established the first, Independent School, nationally, within the voluntary sector primarily for Black and Racial Minority pupils (Elimu Academy- Liverpool). She also developed visionary, community led, education programmes for adults, children and young people regardless of racial heritage.
She has been the youngest Council Member for the General Teaching Council for England, appointed by the Secretary of State, and one of the first group of education advisers for the former (Deputy Prime Ministers Office) Communities and Local Government (NRU), founder of Teach Consultancy Ltd, Ebony Recruitment Solutions and a founding member of the Merseyside Campaign Against Racial Terrorism (CART). As a consultant and professionally qualified coach, she delivers nationally for Local Authorities, Schools, the FE and HE sector, Private, Public and Corporate Bodies.
She is a professionally trained Corporate and Executive Coach, NLP practitioner and Counsellor. She has considerable experience of influencing change, strategic and financial management, community development and regeneration, partnership brokerage, obtaining funding, inspection and quality assurance processes, capacity building and engagement. In recognition of her achievements she was awarded a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for services to education and the Merseyside Women of the Year. Her accolades continued in 2004 when she was awarded the Women of Merit. She features in the book, 'Who's Who of Black Achievers' by the New Nation and 'Liverpool Black Pioneers' by Dr Ray Costello, Liverpool’s Sung and Unsung, 2007, Black Britannia Role Models, 2008, and Top 50 Black Achievers 2009. She has contributed to many articles and debates featured in the local and national media.
Elizabeth Heik, M.A, M.B.A - Associate Trainer
Is an Expert of Vocational Education, Training and Lifelong Learning attached to International Programmes . She has professional experience as Project Manager and as External Evaluation Expert for a variety of awarding bodies and educational institutions. She is part-time PHD student in Doctor in Education (International) Programme.
William Miles, M.Ed, B.Ed (Hons) - Associate Trainer
Has many years experience in schools and Local Authorities and has been both an OfSTED inspector and School Improvement Partners. He formed part of his school leadership team and was recognized by OfSTED for having delivered an outstanding extended school and learning provision.
Jenny Cottage - Office Manager
Prior to joining Teach Consultancy, Jenny had a long career in the public sector where she worked as Personal Secretary to various Directors with responsibility for Funding, Communities & Regeneration and Local Government Practice. During her early career she has worked in a number of schools and voluntary organisations.
